Moments in time

If I  got a chance to remember one moment in my life even if it wasn’t the best moment I would do this moment. It wasn’t the best moment but at least I would be able to see that person again and this was the last memory I ever got of her. I was sitting on the bench at my grandparent’s house and my grandma/we call her du’ee gave me a cooky my anty/Tamzan walked in and then stormed back out in a grump I was too little to know why she got mad but I would still do anything to go back and fix it. The other memory I would love to go back to was when I punched Tasman in the face and made his nose bleed because he kept on poking me with the shovel I kept on telling him to stop but he wouldn’t stop so I punched him in the nose and I  did say pleas but it is his fault for not listening but at the end we both ended up sitting on the step next to each other, And I guess the reason why I pics this particular one is because at this age we can’t really do little play fights like that and that memory really reminded me of my childhood.

About me

Hi, My name is Scarlett. I am in Year 6 studint at Kaniere School. My favorite subject is writing. My hobbies are climbing trees and I like to play in the fort. One fun fact about me is I am great at making huts. I love to tall the trees and my slime about my day.

Potato Olympics

About two weeks ago we started doing the Potato Olympics. The first thing we did was a potato dance-off. In the potato dance-off, you have to spin your potato, and whoever spins their potato the longest wins. We have also done potato bobsledding and potato darts, potato relay, potato toss, and lots more Every day we try to fit in two events we are done with potato Olympics now and our potatoes are bred in the garden.

Do you think this would be fun?

Too much sugar, Mum DON”T read this !

When my family has parties Mum always says that we have to wait for every won to get here. But like I would listen to that, a big bowl of sweats sat on the table. I  snuck into the narrow crack between the sofa and the wall. I tried to slide behind the coffee table, But I guess Mum was watching me because when I came out the other side Mum was looking at me. My cousin Evelyn came first and I asked Mum if I could have one lolly but she still said NO. So after that, I just won’t stop I sounded like a broken record. She said I could have one, So I definitely had one year just ciding I boride a handful. In the end, I hade most of the things.

What does your dream day look like?

What does your dream day look like?

I want my dream day to be in the snow. Because I’ve never felt snow be for and I want to try skiing. I can imagine making a snowman and I allso want to make a sand castle out of snow. Snow is white so I can do heaps of experiments with it. Like mixing snow with slime and putting food coloring in snow. I allso want to try making an igloo.  I also heard that you can make snowballs and have a snowball fight. I also want to slide down a mountain

4 hours at school

Evelyn opened the gate to the school it shook as I pushed the gate to the side. The air felt damp ran was coming we walked across the field to the fort. Even though the ran was ner it was reasonably hot and the fort was dry. We ran over to our favorite tree which we called Tuka. Last year Tuka was a tall old spot tree. But he had to get chopped down. Becos he was dangerous. I took the first step up, Tuka. Evelyn followed close behind. We saw a family with their bikes biking around the bike track.

Do you think it’s for when trees get chopped down?

Last Weekend

Last Friday we had a game night with a big group of our South African friends. Me and Jasper brought our chrome books, there were movies on for the kids too and the adults all played board games. Mum’s favorite was ‘articulate’. Every family brought a platter to share and we stayed until one o’clock in the morning.

On Saturday we all slept in, Mum and Pappa milked cows then Pappa and his friend David worked on Pappa’s monster truck and we had a braai (which is a South African barbecue) for dinner at home with friends.

On Sunday we were going to go to another friend’s house in Greymouth for a birthday party but they got stuck at a work party and so we just rested.

Reading

Last week we read about Tomtits the book was called Getting Closer. In the book there was a man, he had a special whistle that he could use to draw other birds to him. With it he could get birds from all over the forest to come to him.

I learned that to be a good photographer in nature you have to have some field craft. This means that you first need to find the animal you want to take photos of and then keep going back to visit them so you figure out what their habits are. This photographer was lucky because the tomtits he found were babies that had just left their nest which meant they weren’t scared of people like their parents and were nosey.

Tomtits usually fly around in a circle coming back to the same spot about every 15 minutes which means if you know where a tomtit usually lands you can be waiting there with your camera ready for when it comes back.

Swimming sports

On Monday we went to swimming sports I entered in half-length brushstroke, half a length over arm half a length backstroke, and one length backstroke. I won one length backstroke, half a length over arm and I got 4 place in breaststroke. I’m going to the swimming pool again on Wednesday I’m racing against half of my class and if I get first or second then I go to Greymouth and if I get past that then I go to Christchurch. I won one length backstroke I got to go to the next level up.
